"Very easy, because it is made of the highest quality part available. Wood is cheap unless it is a hard wood, otherwise it expands and contract depending on the humidity. Aluminum will not expand and contract like wood. You can drop the SSV and the housing will not break. (warranty does not cover dropping the unit). The heating element is highly engineered. There are different grades of ceramic heaters and the SSV uses the TOP of the LINE. Our heating element is 100% encased in the ceramic coating. Some cheaper elements are not 100% encased. Many of the parts are hand made in the USA. Labor costs in the USA are higher than that of many other countries.
